Why Your Website Visitors Don't Buy, And What You Can Do About It

By James Kupe

Nothing sucks more than getting a ton of visitors to your website without anyone buying anything. In fact, for 95% of website owners, this is the biggest problem they have. But what if there was an easy way to attract people who were in the process of buying a product or service right away? People who had their credit card in their hand looking for the right place to purchase... Would that be helpful? In this article, you'll learn exactly how to attract those people to your website.

To get us started, I want you to think about the mindset people have when they are about to buy something. Typically they will have done at least some research so they know pretty much what they want. They aren't just searching randomly for stuff to spend money on. So what is the best way to sort these near-buyers from the people who are mostly coming to your site now - the lookers?

It's true that there really is a kind of open secret among successful online business owners. Unfortunately most people completely miss it when they are trying to make money online because they just don't realize how important it is. So what is it that I'm alluding to - the 'secret' to building a profitable online business is this - Targeting the right type of keywords when you are creating your website content, so you can attract the right type of visitors.

So what are the 'right' keywords?

The key is this - you have to focus on the words and phrases that people in your niche are searching on when they are about to BUY a product, rather than the keyword phrases they use when they are just RESEARCHING which product they are going to buy.

Let's look at an example. Say somebody enters the keyword phrase 'digital camera' when they are looking for information in Google. It would indicate they are most likely doing their initial research on digital cameras, and they probably aren't ready to buy a digital camera immediately. But if they had searched for 'digital camera reviews', they are more likely to be thinking about buying a camera soon. They just aren't sure which one yet.

But here's where the big pot of money is lying. If somebody searches Google using the keyword phrase 'fuji finepix s5000 digital camera'? This person HOT. They are ready to BUY a Fuji FinePix S5000 digital camera, and they are just looking for the right merchant or the best deal they can find. If your website ranks high up in Google's search results, you are very likely to get the sale.

But that's not all. To give yourself an even higher chance of making that sale, your website content should position you as a likable person who's happy to share their knowledge with your visitor so you can help them find the best camera. The final step in the puzzle (after you get ranked for a buyer keyword) is to prove to your super-hot and ready-to-buy-now visitor that you are the only logical choice. This positioning is what will help you to wrap up the sale and put money into your bank account.
